The Bold and the Beautiful fans were blown away when Steffy fired Hope. It was sheer bad luck for Hope, who changed into lingerie expecting her new beau Carter to enter the design office. But when she stepped out from behind the privacy screen, she was shocked to see Finn there, not Carter, and it threw her into a tizzy causing her to trip and fall right on top of him. Of course, Steffy walked in at that moment and was blinded by rage, assuming Hope was after her husband again, and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood took some time to discuss Steffy’s thought process on the firing.
MacInnes Wood explained to Soap Opera Digest that the only thing Steffy can see is the fact that Hope (Annika Noelle) is gone. It doesn’t even worry her that Zende (Delon de Metz) will probably be out of a job now that Hope, and her line Hope for the Future is done. MacInnes Wood also stated that Steffy was happy that her dad Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) backed her up, and admitted that Steffy probably secretly hopes it will split him and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and push him back to her mom, Taylor (Rebecca Budig). The actress also praised executive producer and head writer Brad Bell for writing Steffy as a character with strength who can juggle being a CEO, a wife, and a mother. She also enjoys when he writes Steffy into a predicament, teasing, “All I can say is it will get more intense, more fabulous, and the twists will blow Steffy – and hopefully the audience – away.”

When SOD asked MacInnes Wood if there was even one thing that Hope could do to win a favorable opinion from Steffy, she answered with an emphatic, “Nope. Steffy is done.” She further remarked that Steffy is beyond happy to be rid of Hope, which not only helps prevent the Logan from coming on to Finn, but is also a financially sound move for Forrester Creations by dissolving Hope’s failing fashion line.
With the secret romance between Hope and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) at hand, it’s only a matter of time before it becomes public knowledge. MacInnes Wood relishes the opportunity to have Steffy also clash with Carter, remarking, “It’s always a delight to play something different, especially with someone you’ve been working with, in the same capacity for so long.” (Did Steffy fire Hope out of revenge?
