Obviously, it wasn’t an intruder who interrupted Poppy and Bill’s quality time on the Thursday, August 1 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. Rather it was Bill’s suddenly SORAS’d son with Katie. Yes, Will has returned to the Spencer/Logan fold. And immediately, the drama with Dollar Bill’s instant family instantly increased. That may not be a bold move, but it is beautiful.
Thus far, pesky external issues have plagued Poppy (Romy Park) and Bill (Don Diamont), yet their family unit has remained intact. Even Poppy’s coming clean about her relationship with Tom Starr (Clint Howard) didn’t register much on the drama Richter scale. Bill processed the revealed secret in what felt like 2.3 seconds.
Ultimately, he felt Poppy should have told him, but he felt bad she had to deal with Stalker Tom. This will probably come back to bite them in the you-know-what down the road. But, for now, it was just a blip of a problem.
In Thursday’s episode, Will (Crew Morrow, making his B&B debut) surprised Bill and Poppy while having sex. Once the awkward moment passed (well, the moment passed, not the awkwardness), there was a confrontation in which Bill expected Will to fall in line with his perfect family scenario. Meanwhile, he shouldn’t have expected so much, and he shouldn’t have demanded that his son automatically hug Luna (Lisa Yamada).
So, it was great that Will didn’t seem like he would adhere to his dad’s wishes. In fact, he decided not to bunk in the mansion. Instead, he decided to stay with Katie. Ever since the Nozawas arrived, Luna especially has experienced everybody falling all over her because she’s such a nice, beautiful, and talented person. The Forresters have hyped her up and down, inside and out. (Here’s what’s going on with Luna and Poppy on Friday)
Even Katie (Heather Tom) can’t say enough good things about Luna. But we’re here for Will not making it easy for Bill’s new daughter. It’s natural that there would be resentment between the sudden half-brother and sister. And it’s certainly natural for him to resent Poppy’s presence as well.
What Will’s return also does is give the relentless Katie someone to bounce theories and ideas off of so she’s not venting to people who adore Luna. Her conversations with RJ (Joshua Hoffman) fall flat because he’s dating Luna. And it finally makes it so it doesn’t feel like Katie’s living on an island of her own.
We’re looking forward to seeing if Will agrees with Katie’s thinking, which is that, at best, Poppy is a golddigger and, at worst, the Happy Mints Killer. (Learn the latest B&B Comings & Goings here)
