Hope seemed to talk sense into Finn during The Bold and the Beautiful‘s episode on Monday, March 4, 2024. He headed back home to Steffy, where he started saying all the right things regarding Sheila’s death and Steffy’s part in it. As soon as Steffy tried to get a little closer to Finn, he slammed the brakes on their moment and left his wife to suffer alone…again.
Finn and Steffy: Hurt and No Comfort
Ever since Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) stabbed and killed Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), Finn (Tanner Novlan) has been the one in a tailspin. He knows his wife is hurting and reeling from taking someone’s life. Unfortunately, he can’t concentrate on her trauma. He has his own to deal with.
After all, Sheila is the woman who gave him life. Despite everything she’s done to him and his family, they did share a connection. And now he has to come to terms with his wife’s role in his birth mom’s death. It’s a lot to handle, and he’s not doing an excellent job of it.
While at Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila’s place, Finn had a deep conversation with Hope (Annika Noelle), who showed Finn empathy. At the same time, she attempted to give him insight into Steffy’s perspective. The talk was successful enough to send him home to his and Steffy’s Malibu cliff house.
A relieved Steffy apologized for everything Finn was feeling and thinking. Meanwhile, Finn conveyed his worry for Steffy and his relief that she was safe and the kids were, too. And he understood why she did what she did. However, when she wanted more comfort, she went in for a kiss. Finn couldn’t do it, he couldn’t kiss her.
Earlier, Finn admitted to Hope that, in the immediate aftermath of the stabbing, he could barely look at Steffy or touch her. Presently, Finn started panicking, told his wife he needed time and space, and ditched her, leaving her standing alone, horrified over what had just transpired.
What This Means for Sinn
What does this mean for Finn and Steffy? The two have overcome a million obstacles, many of which Sheila inflicted on them. Through everything, they have always supported each other through thick and thin.
There’s every reason to think this is a momentary blip between them. Granted, it’s a massive blip, but maybe Finn needs time to process why he’s reacting the way he’s. He said he doesn’t understand why he’s feeling this way, so maybe he’s still in shock. With space, he’ll come around and realize what Steffy did was self-defense. If this happens, will Steffy be able to put aside any resentments that popped up because of her husband’s unexpected reaction to Sheila’s death?
This drama could also provide the perfect opportunity for Liam (Scott Clifton, who warns about a very real problem here) to come slinking back into Steffy’s life. If he worms his way back in by capitalizing on Finn’s sudden empathy for Sheila, the chasm between Finn and Steffy could grow larger.
As a result, Liam won’t need to tape videos of Finn sympathizing with his mom slyly. He won’t need to remind Steffy of Finn’s wishy-washiness when it comes to Sheila. All Steffy needs to do is remember Finn backing away from kissing her and then leaving her alone to deal with her own trauma. Regardless, it’s going to be a while before these two are okay.
So what do you think? Is Finn and Steffy’s marriage damaged beyond repair? Or can Sinn work it out? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
