Detective Deacon? This Twist Could Bring A Whole New Job On Bold and the Beautiful

Over the years, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Deacon has been many things, including thief, manager, vice president, convict, and now restaurateur, but no one would have pegged him for a detective. That is until recent events have him working to solve his second mystery, and it might be time for a career change for Mr. Sharpe.

Not His First Rodeo

On the July 29 episode of B&B, Deacon (Sean Kanan) was talking with Bill (Don DIamont) and Justin (Aaron D. Spears) about the deaths of Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) and Tom (Clint Howard) at Il Giardino. Adeptly ignoring Bill’s off-handedly snide remarks, he contemplated the fact that both men had died from a drug overdose in the same week at the same place. Clearly, something was not right with that picture and Deacon concluded there had to have been foul play involved. We marveled at Kanan’s acting, because we could see the wheels turning in his head as he tried to put the pieces together.

As fans surely recall, when Deacon saw that Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) corpse had 10 toes, not nine, he realized she was still alive somewhere. After some great detective work, and with the help of Tom and Finn (Tanner Novlan), she was rescued. Now, he’s got a new case on his hands, so it’s time for the Il Giardino crew to pile into the Mystery Machine and solve who killed Tom and Hollis. Deacon’s got street smarts, and the look in his eyes clearly indicated he was in his element.

Discerning Deacon Could Open a New Business

Deacon doesn’t think quite like the others in his orbit and tends to stray outside the box. He not only persevered in his love for Sheila, but he was also tenacious in his search for her when no one else believed she could have been alive.

That tenacity is going to serve him well, especially since there are a few suspects surrounding him including Poppy (Romy Park) and Justin, who happens to look ridiculously suspicious whenever the deaths are mentioned. That almost seems too good to be true, and we wonder that when the Deacon Gang eventually nabs him, they’d realize it was a different person wearing a Justin mask — who’s furious because his murderous scheme would have worked if hadn’t been for those meddling restaurant workers.

Poppy is also a little too obvious, and suspicious-looking Justin could be a red herring to make us forget about her as a suspect. If that’s the case, Deacon will have to work quickly to find the real perpetrator, or he could be the next victim.

No matter who the killer turns out to be (it definitely won’t be Sheila), Deacon could very well consider becoming an investigator if he solves it, once again bucking a system that didn’t believe him. Bill was a bit snarky when Deacon theorized that the two men were actually murdered, but eventually, he started to buy into the theory a little bit.

Becoming a police detective is probably out of the question for Deacon, considering he’s served jail time. He’d probably do well as a private investigator, especially if the deaths end up closing down his restaurant, and he could hang a new shingle: Sharpe and Carter Investigations and Chicken Parm.
