Kelly Kruger hasn’t graced our daytime TV shows in a hot minute but her stints as Mackenzie on The Young and the Restless and Eva on The Bold and the Beautiful are fondly remembered. In real life, she’s a woman very much in love with her husband, Darin Brooks, and has a big reason to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, Kelly Kruger
And that’s because she was born on November 12, 1981, in Montreal, Quebec, which means that this fan-favorite actress is turning 42 years old today! Kruger was 17 when she was discovered by Elite Models while visiting family in Los Angeles — an event that precipitated a successful career as a cover girl, and an ambassador for retailers and products like Macy’s and Sebastian Hair.
Kruger eventually decided to try her hand at acting, which led to her casting in a season of the MTV telenovela Undressed (2001), as well as the feature film Vampire Clan (2002).
Between February 2002 and July 2003, Kruger appeared in the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless as Mackenzie “Mac” Browning — a role that she would later reprise in both 2018 and 2019.
Kruger’s other acting credits include episodes of Criminal Minds (2006), Bones (2007), Entourage (2007), Knight Rider (2008), How to Make It in America (2010), Rizzoli & Isles (2013), and Castle (2014). Between 2014 and 2017, Kruger played the recurring role of Eva on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Among Kruger’s many silver screen features are Mysterious Skin (2004), Self Medicated (2005), Wreckage (2010), and Resurrecting McGinn(s) (2016). Kruger has also appeared in many made-for-TV films including Prayer Hour (2011), Thirtyish (2013), and Home Is Where The Killer Is (2019).
Kruger has been married to Darin Brooks – an actor who is known for formerly playing Max on Days of our Lives and Wyatt on The Bold and the Beautiful — since March 2016. The couple has two daughters together, Everleigh Jolie, born September 22, 2019, and Gemma Wynter, born January 29, 2022.
