While Eric Forrester’s life hangs in the balance on The Bold and the Beautiful, many have wondered where Taylor has been as her children, Steffy and Thomas, deal with the emotional situation. Just ahead of the Daytime Emmys, Krista Allen spoke out about her status with the CBS daytime drama.
Krista Allen Talks
Allen spoke to Deadline about her unexpected exit from the soap. “The craziest thing is right before I got dropped, I did the cast photo shoot, and then the next week they called and said, ‘we’re not going to keep your third year and thank you very much, you were wonderful and thank you, goodbye,” Allen told the publication. “And I was like, what?
“I think the hardest thing for me has been trying to stay quiet,” she continued. “I haven’t known what to say. And then when I got dropped, I was like, ‘oh, okay, is the show going to announce this?’ But they never did.”
December 10 would’ve been Allen’s two-year anniversary on the soap, and she said many fans wished her congratulations, hoping she’d reappear on the show soon. Taylor hasn’t been seen in fictional Los Angeles since November 8. (Read our recap of this episode here.)
Tonight, Allen is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress, and if she wins, it will seem like a miss for B&B. “When the Emmy nominations came out and I was nominated, I was blown away,” Allen confided. “It was my first year as a recast. It was kind of like against all odds.”
Despite getting the nomination, Allen realized that Taylor wasn’t being written for in the weeks following. Ultimately, she didn’t receive any goodbyes from the show, and Allen suspects that none of her former colleagues were aware she’d been dropped.
There’s good on the horizon for Allen, though, as this chapter of her life closes tonight at the ceremony. “Here we are on this amazing day, and I am so excited. And tomorrow I take off. I’m moving to Atlanta, Georgia. It just seemed like the perfect time to go. It’s turning the page on this really interesting chapter, and now we’re going to the next one.”
