As Bridget Forrester, Ashley Jones has married into the on-screen Marone and Sharpe families on The Bold and the Beautiful. Now, the actress has a new set of in-laws — and they’re just perfect!
Ashley Jones: Ready for Her Close-Up
Before Jones returns to B&B next month as Bridget, she’s got a unique role in The Perfect In-Laws, which airs tonight, November 30, on Lifetime. “The movie I directed earlier this year premieres!!” Jones posted on Instagram. “THE PERFECT IN-LAWS is a fun thriller…set your timers, dvrs, or watch live!! Can’t wait to hear what you think!”
The movie tells the story of a young woman named Audrey (Brianna Cohen), who marries a man named Xander (Tim Shelburne). Their family dynamic changes greatly after the passing of Xander’s father. Enter Marlena (Kylie Delre), Xander’s seductive stepmother, who may hold the key to unlocking the mystery of Xander’s father’s death.
The Plot Thickens
Did Xander’s pop die in a simple accident, or is there more to the tale? The Perfect In-Laws also features Michael Woods (ex-Jim, Guiding Light; ex-Alec, As the World Turns; ex-Mark, Texas). The film is written by Michael Perronne, who has also written the movies Don’t Sell My Baby, Trapped With My Husband, Here Kills The Bride, and Sleeping With My Student.
Jones is just one of many actresses from the soap opera world who have branched out into directing. Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie) and Heather Tom (Katie) have also called out shots from behind the camera.
Ashley Jones Has Supportive Pals
Jones’s friends weighed in on her post and offered support for her project. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) and Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) posted supportive fire symbol and high-five emojis. Jones’s friend James (AKA @jwebercincy) wrote: “Tonight! I rarely watch Lifetime movies, but I’ll be glued to this one. One of my favorites [Ashley Jones] directed it. She put a lot of work and love into it, so I hope it’s a big success! #BoldandBeautiful #Bridget #GH #lifetimemovies.”
