While Bill wisely told Luna that she didn’t ever need to kiss him again, Hope and Finn confessed to the kiss that happened during the Rock On performance. And let us be clear: it was a one-sided kiss perpetrated by Hope (okay, Steffy?). In the Monday, August 19 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Hope told her mom what happened at the party. Her account seemed tinged in jealousy, but when will she admit this all has to do with revenge against Steffy as well?

Getting the Truth Off Hope’s Chest

Hope (Annika Noelle) is in such an oddly dark place. We’re seeing her systematically go after Finn (Tanner Novlan). Even buzzed, her move at Eric’s (John McCook) party for Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was completely out of the blue and uncalled for. After all, her family was there, and it happened as people danced awkwardly to Danny Romalotti’s Rock On. She planted the kiss, and Finn immediately pushed her away from him. Hope instantly knew she was going to be in the doghouse.

Sure, there are fans speculating that maybe there’s something physically or neurologically wrong with Hope. She would never have done this. She has repeatedly talked about Finn as if she had him sitting on a throne, a pedestal so high she could barely see him. Nothing against Finn, however. He’s loyal, hot, intelligent, has a great job and is faithful to his wife. He supports her. But Hope never talks about his flaws.

For one, he’s completely clueless, especially regarding his mother, and can sometimes be easily manipulated. He also lets people walk all over him. And, honestly, he’s a bit judgmental. But who isn’t? It’s understandable why she would be jealous of Finn’s devotion to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood — here’s what she’s been up to lately). That’s something she didn’t have with Liam (Scott Clifton). But you know who she did have that with? Thomas (Matthew Atkinson).

Yet when she came clean with Brooke, she talked about Finn and how she saw his devotion to Steffy. And she skipped from the whole Liam flip-flopping to admiring the kind of man Finn was. Yes, she did mention that she lost someone close to her recently. But did anybody think it weird that she didn’t say Thomas’s name? It was almost like she was erasing him from the story, except for that one line.

But we know Thomas is still a big part of this. Hope wouldn’t have inched closer to Finn if she hadn’t resented Steffy’s interference with her relationship with him. She’s been gunning for Steffy whenever she can when they’re in meetings together at Forrester. When will she admit that she wants to mess with Steffy’s life the same way she feels Steffy messed with her life? And not just admit it, but lean into it?

Doing what she’s doing for pure revenge and taking pleasure in it is something we’d rather see than actually thinking that she wants a life with Finn. Or, at the very least, a slice of it. Now she’s going to have Steffy on her like nobody’s business. Let’s hope she’s ready for the blowback. Hope may have begged Finn not to tell his wife about the kiss, but he obviously didn’t listen. Steffy knows, and she’ll come after her nemesis but quick.

What did you think of Hope and Brooke’s conversation? Is Hope actually having feelings for Finn, or is this just a payback for Steffy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
