Kill Giardino made a comeback in the Friday, July 12 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. Poor Hollis. He wasn’t just a good-looking bartender — he had compassion for Tom. But he was curious, too. He wanted to get to the bottom of what was in the backpack. And because of that, he joined Tom up in heaven, where we’re sure they’ll open their own heavenly version of Il Giardino.
Well, the show did it. They killed Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers). The writing was on the wall, of course. He had more dialogue this week than his entire run combined. But, our favorite barman had become a fixture of the Il Giardino scene, and we loved that. It’s sad that just when the character received more airtime, it was only to send him off into the great beyond.
Also, poor Deacon (Sean Kanan). He lost Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis in a really short amount of time. We saw how dogged he was when he realized Sheila (Kimberlin Brown — who shared an idea about her character) wasn’t as gone as he thought. He was relentless. Are we about to get that Deacon again?
Characters acted suspiciously all episode long. Or they were all of a sudden headed out on their own.
Sheila Carter: Before Hollis died, they had a chat that escalated in intensity because of Sheila. She didn’t want him to follow up on the whole backpack business. She urged him to throw it out in the dumpster. Why would she do that? And then, talking to Deacon, she said she wouldn’t let anyone get in the way of her happiness. She also found Hollis, who died BEHIND THE BAR (how dare they?). And she screamed loudly. In a way that suggested she was faking it. Sheila doesn’t scream. For anything. She’s an immovable force. But is she the red herring?
Li and Jack: They’re being lumped together because they were at Il Giardino’s the night of the murder. And again, they were both at Finn’s office simultaneously. What a coincidence! Jack (Ted King) claimed that the night Tom died (which he, yeah, right, didn’t know about), he left before Tom started singing. Let’s say Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Jack are all kinds of shady, and it’s way too soon to tell if they’re as estranged as they’re telling everyone.
Bill and Poppy: After hanging with Luna (Lisa Yamada), they both left separately. Bill isn’t as obvious as Poppy (Romy Park). But the man is a bazillionaire. He doesn’t leave anything up to chance. In fact, he has probably vetted Poppy and may know more than he’s letting on. Just spitballing right now. And again, Bill’s ex-cohort Justin (Aaron D. Spears — who recently celebrated a birthday) may be involved. Maybe not with Bill, but one never knows.
Clearly, it’s someone that Hollis knows. After all, he said, “What are you doing here?” But he was glad that person was there because he needed to get his discovery off his chest. Plus, he was drinking that water or sports drink or whatever it was before the lights went out in Il Giardino…people better start glueing their containers shut. (Find out what happens on B&B on Monday)
Oh, and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) called Chief Baker (Dan Baker) to sic him on Sheila as a person of interest for the Tom murder. Genius! Don’t know if Finn (Tanner Novlan) will think the same.
