Harrison Cane recently joined The Bold and the Beautiful as Deke, the son of Deacon Sharpe, played by Sean Kanan, and the late Becky Moore, who was played by Marissa Tait. He made history when he joined the show, because he and fellow daytime newcomer Christian Weissmann, who plays Remy, shared the first male kiss on B&B.
The show has long been a trailblazer in inclusive storytelling on daytime television. Years ago, viewers watched Karen Spencer, portrayed by original cast member Joanna Johnson, find love with Danielle, played by daytime favorite Crystal Chappell. The soap then made history on a global scale with the introduction of Maya Avant, brought to life by Karla Mosley. Maya’s reveal as the first transgender character on a daytime drama turned heads worldwide, and her later wedding cemented her place in history as daytime’s very first transgender bride.
