The Bold and the Beautiful is currently re-airing classic episodes as the supply of original episodes has been exhausted due to the coronavirus and social-distancing. Now, a report has surfaced that may shed light as to when the half-hour CBS sudser will resume production.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Almost Back?
Deadline learned that the show’s cast and crew received a new memo, letting them know that BB is currently preparing to resume taping in June. Sources noted that this is a tentative start date and that the “situation remains fluid.”
A lot of people and groups need to sign off on the return and new scenes being shot, including the Hollywood unions, decision-makers at Television City (the studio where BB has taped since its inception), the city of Los Angeles, and the state of California.
BB had several weeks of episodes in the can when the show stopped production earlier this year. When original episodes ended, CBS began re-airing classic episodes. Next week’s re-broadcasts feature episodes central to the character of Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).
The most recent original episode of The Bold and the Beautiful ended with Dr. Penny Escobar (Monica Ruiz) clubbing a suspicious Flo (Katrina Bowden) over the head after she figured out that Sally (Courtney Hope) was faking her fatal illness.
As Sally and Penny were dragging Flo’s unconscious body out of the living room, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) started to enter his beach house. He had a reaction to something — but viewers were left wondering what that was. Viewers are going to have to wait until the show returns to find out if Sally’s scheme has been fully exposed or not!
BB debuted on March 23, 1987. The series was created by the late William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. Bradley Bell is BB’s executive producer and head writer. BB has won three Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
