Plot twists happen all the time on soaps. The Bold and the Beautiful star Scott Clifton had to deal with a real-life change of plans when a pre-planned live-tweeting session took an unexpected turn.
Scott Clifton Refuses To Disappoint Fans
The Emmy-winner was set to do a live commentary during a recent classic re-airing on BB, but a local news pre-emption, updating viewers on the latest with the coronavirus put that to a halt. Instead, Clifton opted to do an impromptu Q&A session with fans of the show, who gave the actor a variety of questions to answer.
Topping the list was when is the show going go back into production? “We have an idea,” Clifton says as to when the actors will return to work. “We were told, all of us — the whole cast — that we’d try for mid-May so, May 15th-ish. But we had been given other dates before that that didn’t pan out because things keep changing.
“Everything is tentative,” the actor notes. “We’re really itching to get back in there and give you guys more story. Even when we do go back there will be a lot more protocol than there was before. We might even have to film things differently where we’re not in such close proximity [with one another].”
That said, Clifton says, “We’re dying to get back to work, but we’re going to do it safely and intelligently.”
Along with tackling this serious concern, Clifton employed his trademark humor when answering some other questions from fans of the show. He said The Bold and the Beautiful story he enjoyed the most was the one in which Liam had amnesia (the actor noted that the word “amnesia” wasn’t actually used during the time Liam had no memory of who he was) and he worked exclusively with Rena Sofer (Quinn). He raved about Sofer’s work and says he misses Ashleigh Brewer (ex-Ivy) and he’d love to have more scenes with Heather Tom (Katie), too.
Asked if he gave Darin Brooks (Wyatt), his TV brother, a new dad, any advice on how to be a pop, Clifton replied: “I don’t think he needs it! [He and Kelly Kruger, ex-Mac, The Young and the Restless] seem to be doing great. Everleigh [their daughter] is an amazing, amazing baby. They’re doing just fine.”
Asked which character he’d be best friends with in real life, Clifton quipped: “Not Liam! The temptation to choke him would be too much!” Check out Clifton’s tweet below to listen to the entire chat. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
