Rome Flynn, who took home a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series portraying Zende Forrester Dominguez on The Bold and the Beautiful before landing a primetime gig with How to Get Away With Murder, is celebrating some big news with his recent musical release.
Although Flynn had to take a break from music for a bit in early 2020 to concentrate on completing the final episodes of How to Get Away With Murder, once his work on the ABC hit was done, he immediately went to work on his music and released the song, Keep Me In Mind, last month.
“I put a record out last year and once I put that out, I had to put music aside and focus on How to Get Away With Murder and finish up the season strong, and just enjoy it,” Flynn said. “I didn’t want to be distracted by the music with this being our final season. I was working with all these amazing people, and we finished filming in February, so I went back to music, and this is a song I wrote in March.”
Now, a month after releasing the song — and the previously released Brand New — he has hit more than 1 million streams.
“[O]ver 1 MILLION total streams for my 2 singles. thank you to every person that’s been streaming #KMIM & growing with me,” Flynn posted on his Twitter account.
The actor told Soap Hub that releasing Keep Me in Mind on its own was a way for his fans to get accustomed to him as a singer and not think he’s just rushing from one medium to the next.
“Music has always been a big part of my life, and I just wanted people to hear this song and its message,” Flynn said. “Now, when I do put out a fuller body of work with the EP, people won’t feel as if I am just forcing it on them.”
He noted that he is currently working on the EP and he hopes to have it out later this year. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
