In major cities throughout the United States, there have been a series of protests over George Floyd, whose death at the hands of a police officer has sparked outrage and a demand for justice. Pierson Fode, formerly Thomas on The Bold and the Beautiful, and his pal Mark Dohner went out into the streets on Friday night to report on what was happening in their area.
Pierson Fode Has A Harrowing Experience
“The video you are about to see is from the George Floyd protest,” Fode explained on social media. After going to downtown Los Angeles, he and Dohner recorded protests, which turned violent. Fode reports that fights broke out and that police retaliated with gas and rubber bullets. Fires were started. Fireworks were set off. Supermarkets and health food stores were broken into.
“This is a moment in history,” the actor explains as to why he ventured out into a dangerous situation. “Tons of people’s lives have been affected by this around the U.S. I’m still trying to process all the information that happened so, I hope you see this footage and take from it what you will.”
These protests have all been starting peacefully in the afternoon, but then there are reports that people from outside each city have infiltrated them and turned them violent by evening.
The good news is that both Fode and Dohner made it to safety before the night ended. They opted to wisely retreat once the situation escalated beyond a certain point. “I want to thank everybody that reached out and asked if Mark and I made it home safe,” Fode shares. “We did. Outside of tear gas, smoke inhalation, and just some random bumps and bruises [we received] from the night, we’re okay. [I have a] headache, I still feel swollen and gross, but I’m safe…”
Note: There is a great deal of graphic language and violence throughout Fode’s video. Parental guidance is advised before viewing. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.

To everyone asking. @MarkDohner and I made it back safe from the #DTLA riot. We went out to document what was happening. Outside of some reaction to the teargas and smoke from the fires were safe. It’s a lot to process. I hope EVERYONE still out there is safe. Stay safe America
