We know that The Bold and the Beautiful’s Maya Avant Forrester has a strong-willed mother in Vivienne Avant! In real-life, Maya’s portrayer, Karla Mosley, also has a mom who will take a stand when an issue is important!

Karla Mosley On Taking A Stand

“This is my mama,” Mosley posted on Instagram, showing a picture of her and her mother. “I would never post her age online – for fear of my life – but, as you can see, she doesn’t know where to find the camera when taking a selfie, which clearly means she’s in the COVID ‘At Risk’ population.

“She is also a cancer survivor,” Mosley continues. “When she told me she was heading to a rally on Sunday I said, ‘You’re a boss. Be safe.’ She reported back that it was a powerful and peaceful afternoon…EXCEPT when this young white man, with no mask, stood very close to her. She said, ‘You’re a little close.’ To which he replied, ‘Calm down. No one is 6 feet apart.’ She replied, ‘Well, you’re like 6 inches…’ Again, ‘Calm down.’ My mom, ‘YOU calm down.’ Heads turn. He moves.

“My point?” Mosley asks. “Policy change is so very important. Also important? Teaching respect. And making DOUBLY sure that you didn’t miss that lesson. Language and behavior can be weaponized as well.”

The Bold and the Beautiful History

BB made its debut on March 23, 1987, and introduced glitz and glamour to daytime soap operas. Additionally, the show has told important social issues over the years including breast cancer, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS awareness, homelessness, child abuse, transgender issues, and more.

From Stephanie’s (Susan Flannery) iron grip on her family to Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) evil schemes to the epic love story of Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), BB knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more.

Bringing the Drama

BB is one of four soap operas being broadcast daily. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
