The Bold and the Beautiful News Update: Jacob Young and Karla Mosley Reunite

The Bold and the Beautiful re-aired the classic episode of Rick and Maya’s wedding. That prompted the groom and the bride, played by Jacob Young and Karla Mosley, to reunite for a nice long chat with each other and their fans on social media.

The two on-screen exes got together via Young’s Instagram page (post below) to talk about their ground-breaking storyline and romance, which led to the first transgender wedding on daytime TV in the United States. They also chatted about self-quarantining, how content can be produced in light of the coronavirus, and much more!

The couple fielded questions from fans. One of which was will there be more black people on BB? “I hope so!” Mosley replied. “The Avants were the first really fully formed black family to have their own storyline and world on the show in the 30 (plus) years when we were on. I think we were well-received. I really loved being a part of that. So, I hope there are more black folks, more people of color on the show [in the future].

“The show takes place in Los Angeles,” Mosley adds. “[It’s] an incredibly diverse city. So, there’s no reason for us not to be there.”

Young heaped praise upon the story that featured the Avants, pointing out, in particular, the powerful scene that took place between Mosley and her on-screen dad, Julius, played by Daytime Emmy-winner Obba Babatundé.

“If anyone remembers the wedding,” Young recalled to his fellow actor, “there’s a big, beautiful scene that took place between you and Obba. That just took my breath away. You guys were so powerful.”

Currently, Rick’s overseas working at Forrester International while Maya is living in L.A., making occasional appearances. Time will tell if the pair is reunited on-screen.
