The Bold and the Beautiful News: Pierson Fodé Wants YOU to Be a Superhero

Pierson Fodé fans who imagine seeing him on the big screen as a Marvel or DC Universe superhero don’t have to fantasize any longer. The former Thomas on The Bold and the Beautiful teamed up with filmmaker pal Tylor Kipfel to produce a short video that is sending a message to the super-villain COVID-19.

Pierson Fode With An Important Message

“Dear Covid-19,” Fodé wrote in his tweet, “We’re furious and have found something heroic, deep within ourselves. Our hero’s today don’t wear capes. Our #heroswearmasks I’m not perfect at this but together we can try – REAL FACTS Facts2health. @facts2health @CDCgov @piersonfode @TylorKlipfel.”

“COVID-19 woke up the world with an attack,” says Fodé, providing the voiceover for the short film. He also appears in it wearing dark-rimmed glasses, not unlike the ones people have seen on Clark Kent, Superman’s alter-ego. The film also pays homage to the Man of Steel, showing a young boy wearing a red cape.

“An invisible enemy with visible consequences,” Pierson Fodé adds. “We’ve all suffered directly or indirectly. We’ve waited for a hero, but no one human can do this. It’s up to us to protect those who are susceptible, those that are fragile, those who need us the most. There’s a spark of greatness in each of us. We can step up and become the heroes the world needs. Together, we can defeat COVID-19. In this battle, heroes don’t wear capes. Our heroes wear masks. Join the movement. Become a hero.” #HEROESWEARMASKS.

This video not only stresses the importance of wearing masks, but also gives Fodé’s fans a glimpse of how he’d look as Superman, or, more specifically his alter-ego, a mild-mannered reporter.

Producers looking to cast Superman in films have looked to actors who happen to have daytime credentials. The late Christopher Reeve (ex-Ben, Love of Life) played Kal-El in the 1978 film Superman and its three sequels. Director Bryan Singer cast Brandon Routh (ex-Seth, One Life to Live) as the title character in 2006’s Superman Returns. Perhaps Fodé will follow in their footsteps.
