Actress/director Heather Tom is passionate about causes. So, it’s no surprise that she took part in the recent social media campaign in which women, as a sign of solidarity and support, were posting a black and white photo. The Bold and the Beautiful star chose a picture of her from an important event in her life.
Heather Tom At The Women’s March
“Challenge accepted! Thank you @nyakio for nominating me! I have been so lucky to have been surrounded by strong independent women lead my by beautiful mother, Marie. I nominate my equally beautiful, smart, sassy, scrappy sister @nicholletom #womensupportingwomen #womensmarch #washingtondc.”
You can see below both Tom’s original photo and the re-post in black and white. The actress’s co-stars and pals from daytime and other followers responded with support for the six-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress and her Women’s March pose, taken one day after President Donald Trump was inaugurated.
“❤️❤️❤️Best photo!” tweeted Ashley Jones, who recurs on BB as Bridget, Katie’s niece.
“Beautiful ❤️,” posted Linsey Godfrey (Sarah, Days of our Lives; ex-Caroline, BB).
“Instagram is flooded with great pictures like this today, and I think this is my favorite one,” posted responder @sgwilliams.
Tom is one of daytime’s most respected actresses. In June, she tied Erika Slezak (ex-Viki, One Life to Live) for most Daytime Emmys won by an actress. While Slezak’s were all for playing Viki (and, at times, her various alter-egos), Tom won her first two statuettes for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series on YR as Victoria.
Her next four came for playing Katie. She won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2011. Tom took home the Outstanding Lead Actress in Drama Series Daytime Emmy in 2012, 2013, and 2020. In addition to acting, Tom has directed episodes of BB, Dynasty, and Good Trouble. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
