The Bold and the Beautiful is one of the most widely-watched shows in the world! And now even more viewers will be able to see the escapades of Ridge, Brooke, and the rest of the characters on the half-hour soap!
Channel 24 in South Africa is reporting that BB is returning to that market after a noticeable absence. The CBS serial has found a new platform — Vodacom’s Video Play streaming service. Even though BB had strong ratings, SABC, the previous platform, ended its association with the show, leading to viewers’ extreme disappointment.
Starting now, BB episodes from its 31st year will play on the Vodcam streaming service. There will also be a catalog of 50 episodes that will help fill in the gaps from when BB stopped airing and when it’s picking up once again.
Fans can view the episodes via Vodacom’s Video Play service on their mobile devices and laptops, but this is only for BB fans in the South Africa area. Viewers in the U.S. can see the show on broadcast TV or on CBS.com.
“We are extremely excited to be bringing back one of South Africa’s favourite international soap operas on our video-on-demand service, Video Play, along with the characters we’ve all grown to love, or love to hate,” says Zunaid Mahomed, Vodacom group digital and fixed services officer.
“Our South African viewers have been asking for The Bold and the Beautiful to come back. Now we’re very happy to announce the good news,” says Bradley Bell, executive producer and head writer. “Thank you for welcoming us back onto your screens.” The Bold and the Beautiful airs domestically weekdays on CBS.
