Jacob Young has been a fan favorite since he debuted on The Bold And The Beautiful in late 1997. He’s hopped around to other soaps over the years and now he’s making yet another sudsy move!
The Emmy-winning actor is joining the web soap world in a brand new role.
“We are thrilled to welcome @jacob_w_young to the Season Two cast of Beacon Hill,” the Beacon Hill web series official Instagram account posted. “Jacob will take on the role of ambitious political operative JD Cooper. JD’s smile may charm but the look in his eyes warn you that he’s out to win.”
Beacon Hill teased the casting in an earlier post, noting that the new cast member had played characters all named after their fathers.
Savvy soap fans figured out pretty quickly that meant Young, who has played Eric Forrester’s son Rick on BB, Luke Spencer’s offspring Lucky on General Hospital, and Adam Chandler’s child “JR” (Adam, Jr.) on All My Children!
“So excited to be joining the cast!” Young posted.
The first star-studded season of Beacon Hill, which tells the story of political intrigue and family dynamics in Boston, included Sarah Brown (ex-Carly, GH) as Kate, Alicia Minshew (ex-Kendall, AMC) as Sara, Scott Bryce (ex-Craig, As The World Turns) as Tom, Crystal Chappell (ex-Carly, Days Of Our Lives) as Claire, and Ron Raines (ex-Alan, Guiding Light) as William and many others.
The story dealt with Minshew’s character, New York-based Sara, moving back to Boston to check in on her ailing grandfather William (Raines), where she encounters her former girlfriend Kate (played by Brown). Season 2 of Beacon Hill is set to film this fall in and around the Boston area!
