Wyatt Spencer – a character on The Bold and the Beautiful who has always been second best. The second best son, the second-best lover – and husband – and the second, or even third best friend because, let’s face it, he doesn’t actually have any of those.
Who Is Wyatt Spencer?
Wyatt is the son of jewelry designer Quinn Fuller and publishing magnate William “Dollar Bill” Spencer, though he grew up never knowing the true identity of his father. During his formative years, Wyatt was reared in Las Vegas and raised alongside Florence “Flo” Fulton, the daughter of his mother’s oldest friend.
The pair entered middle and high school together and eventually discovered that something more than friendship existed between them. They were each other’s first, and the romance would have probably gone even further were it not for Quinn’s shady dealings forcing the mother-and-son duo to hit the road.
Bare-naked Truth
In time, Wyatt made his way to the Big Bear Lake area of California and it was there that a voyeuristic Hope Logan photographed him taking a fully nude shower underneath his outdoor, solar-powered spout.
Upon being caught, Hope fled into the forest where she wound up knocking herself unconscious. Wyatt came to her rescue, awakened her with a kiss, and escorted her back to her cabin – where they shared another kiss.
After finding her discarded cell phone, Wyatt tracked Hope down and snagged an invitation to the Forrester family’s 4th of July celebration. Yet another kiss between the two resulted in Hope noticing the steel sword necklace that Wyatt was wearing around his neck. Further investigation led them to discover that Wyatt is Bill’s son and Liam’s half-brother.
Female Trouble
Despite the familial revelation, the tension that existed between Wyatt and Liam – owning to both men’s desire to be with Hope – failed to alleviate. For the next few years, the siblings fought tooth and nail for the woman they were each sure that they loved – Wyatt even arranged a burglary so he could fight off the criminals and impress the girl.
And Wyatt’s persistence paid off. For a while. He and Hope married, the event made possible by Quinn’s machinations but, perhaps inevitably, the union ended – its demise accelerated by the loss of the child Hope was carrying.
On the rebound, Wyatt pursued Ivy and Steffy Forrester. The former cheated on him with Thomas and the latter (who also happened to be another one of Liam’s exes) exchanged wedding vows with him (and got matching wedding band tattoos). However, the marriage was dissolved after he learned that she conspired with Ridge to usurp Quinn’s rightful position as Eric’s power of attorney.
Yet another disappointment followed, when Wyatt took up with Katie Logan, his father’s ex-wife and a woman many years his senior. The affair nearly destroyed the progress that Wyatt and Bill had made, but luckily they were able to repair the damage and the May-December romance ended as quickly as it began.
Now lonely and unsure of what the future held, Wyatt found himself attracted to Sally and eventually the two began to date. But the budding romance was dealt a blow when Flo reappeared in Wyatt’s life.
After much deliberation, Wyatt chose to be with Flo, then turned around and begged Sally to take him back when his choice’s role in the baby Beth saga was made public.
But now, the tide has turned, and Wyatt feels that he can forgive and forget his first love’s transgressions. If only he can convince Sally to let him go… The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
