When The Bold and the Beautiful returns with new episodes, folks will be seeing a new face playing a familiar character. Actor Delon de Metz (Zoo) has been cast as Zende Forrester Dominguez. The role was previously played by Rome Flynn, who won a Daytime Emmy for the part.
The role of Kristen (Tracy Melchior) and Tony’s (Paulo Benedeti) adopted son was originated by Daniel E. Smith.
Zende and Nicole (Reign Edwards) fell in love and were married. She acted as a surrogate mother to Maya (Karla Mosley) and Rick (Jacob Young), giving birth to their daughter Lizzie. When Nicole had second thoughts about signing away all her rights, Zende convinced her to do the right thing. Later, Zende and Nicole moved to the destination pretty much all the characters do when they leave the show — Forrester International.
No word yet on when Delon de Metz will start airing, what will bring Zende back to town, or if Nicole will be coming with him.
The Bold and the Beautiful History
BB was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell and made its debut on March 23, 1987 and introduced glitz and glamour to daytime soap operas. The families that were in the debut episode — the Forresters, Logans, and Spencers — remain in the forefront of the program today.
The show’s most enduring love story is the one between Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). BB’s backdrop is the glamorous world of fashion, but the show is known for telling social issue storylines, addressing such topics as homelessness, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, and transgender identity. No longer the new kid on the block, BB is established as one of television’s longest running programs and is one of the world’s most widely watched television shows. Lang and John McCook (Eric) have been with BB since its inception.
Bringing the Drama
BB is one of four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas are General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Young and the Restless (YR). Bradley Bell serves as the show’s executive producer and head writer. BB airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
