The Bold and the Beautiful Alum Rome Flynn Lands TWO New Series

He’s no longer on The Bold and the Beautiful, but Rome Flynn, who won a Daytime Emmy for playing Zende, remains one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors. The performer has landed roles on not one, but two series.

Rome Flynn — Staying Busy

Deadline reports that Flynn has joined the cast of Netflix’s Raising Dion, a superhero series headed into its sophomore season. Other new cast members include Aubriana Davis (Genius: Aretha), Tracey Bonner (Sweet Magnolias), and Josh Ventura (P-Valley).

Raising Dion is based on the comic book by Dennis Liu. The series tells the story of Nicole (Alisha Wainwright), who is raising her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young) after the death of her husband, Mark (Michael B. Jordan, ex-Reggie, All My Children). As Dion starts to show super-hero like abilities, his mother and Mark’s best friend Pat (Jason Ritter) work to keep Dion’s powers a secret as they attempt to figure out the origin of his powers.

Also, Flynn has been cast in a recurring role (character name to be announced) on the fourth (and final) season of the Netflix series Dear White People. The series is set at a primarily white Ivy League university where racial tensions are brewing. The series picks up where the 2014 film of the same name left off. The story follows a group of Winchester University students of color as they face and deal with social injustice and other issues in a millennial age.

Flynn humbly tweeted out his thoughts on his good fortune as he continues to work in a competitive industry. He posted: “i jus do what i love & stay out the way.”

The character of Zende debuted on BB in 2001. Newlyweds Kristen (Tracy Melchior) and Tony (Paulo Benedeti) met him while they were on their honeymoon. They adopted him and brought him back to Los Angeles. Zende was originally played by Daniel Smith. Flynn took over the role in 2015 and played the part for two years, winning the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Young Actor in a Drama Series in 2018. Current portrayer Delon de Metz took over the part in 2020. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
