It has been four years and counting since Kim Matula made her final guest appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful, after which the role of Hope Logan was recast with actress Annika Noelle. Matula has not wanted for work, though, a fact that deserves as much celebration as the milestone that the actress is currently recognizing.
That’s because she was born on August 23, 1988, in Fort Worth, Texas, which means that this talented fan favorite is turning 32 years old today! Matula began her acting career as a voice-over artist responsible for giving life to a number of characters from various anime series.
Among the many shows she worked on are Detective Conan: Captured in Her Eyes, Ouran High School Host Club, School Rumble, Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry, Ghost Hunt, Romeo x Juliet, Darker Than Blue, and Claymore.
Matula’s first role in a live-action project was the 2006 horror film Savage Spirit (Megan). Two years later, she starred in the TV movie, Queen Sized, and the web series Pink.
Between January 11, 2010, and December 12, 2014, Matula starred on The Bold and the Beautiful as Hope Logan, a legacy character who frequently found herself torn between Liam and Wyatt Spencer, a pair of warring siblings. For her efforts, she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Younger Actress category.
Matula’s other acting credits include guest spots on How I Met Your Mother, Exposed, The Defenders, Rosewood, and Teachers, as well as roles in feature films, such as Raptor Ranch, Dawn Patrol, Maybe Someday, and Fighting with My Family. She also had starring parts in TV shows like UnREAL (ex-Tiffany) and L.A. to Vegas (ex-Ronnie Messing).
