Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers September 23: Can Li Keep Taylor’s Shocking Secret?

On the Monday, September 23 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, spoilers tease that Dr. Li Finnegan processes the shocker Taylor told her on Friday. Her fellow doctor and daughter-in-law’s mother is dying. How can this possibly be? You certainly don’t want to miss what unfolds.

Heart Failure or Heartbreak?

Dr. Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) returned to Los Angeles, seeming more restrained and slightly heavier in spirit. Of course, many viewers assumed that Taylor was back in town to lure Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) away from Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). So far, she has spent most of her time supporting Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in her personal and professional crises. Along the way, she admitted to Ridge that he will always be the great love of her life. However, Taylor also told Brooke she had no intention of trying to steal back Ridge.

Perhaps that’s because Taylor has bigger things to worry about. She called Li (Naomi Matsuda) to Steffy’s home to reveal her shocking news. A doctor in Europe told Taylor she has heart failure, and her days are numbered. How tragic and unfathomable. Isn’t Taylor a bit too vibrant and health-conscious to have heart failure? Ironically enough, in the same episode, we learned that stressed-out, cheesecake-eating Captain Deuce Stevens (Tom Arnold) is in perfect health.

One might theorize that the only thing that could cause Taylor’s heart to fail at a relatively young age is all the emotional stress that Ridge caused her. Is Taylor literally dying of a broken heart?

Li’s Difficult Spot

Taylor decided to confide her secret in a fellow medical professional whom she trusts. However, she might not have considered the position she is putting Li in, with her son Finn (Tanner Novlan) married to Taylor’s daughter Steffy. (Read more about what Steffy is up to here.) How can Li keep this secret from Finn and his wife? Doesn’t Steffy deserve to know as soon as possible?

Li may also be as incredulous as we all are about Taylor’s grim diagnosis. Surely, she will want Taylor to get a second opinion here in the U.S. Is it possible that it’s all a horrible mistake?
