Soap Stars Karla Mosley And Tina Huang Share Their Message

She may not be on the current canvas at The Bold and the Beautiful, but Karla Mosley (ex-Maya) recently shared a video that she feels is of great importance — especially now.

Mosley wants viewers to see a video made by Tina Huang, who recently joined Days of Our Lives as prosecutor Melinda Trask. But it’s not of Huang’s acting — it’s about her activism. “This is a screenshot of @tinahuang381 praying to the IG angels for no tech issues,” Mosley wrote, “…if you scroll to minute 14 @ammotheatre, you can tune into a truly magical discussion about art, politics, advocacy, the legacy of the #suffragette movement, the experience of being #unhoused – and more! I was nourished, informed, and I think you will be, too. #lathtr.”

The post that contains the video can be seen below. It’s on the Ammunition Theatre Company’s Instagram page. The theater’s mission is to “produce work that features underrepresented stories told in innovative ways, while actively working and creating in our community.”

Tina Huang stepped into the role of Melinda to play out Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) paying for her accidentally killing Melinda’s daughter Haley (Thia Megia). Mosley recently shared that she’s wrapped her role as Maya as she no longer appears in the show’s opening credits. However, there’s always the possibility that Maya will someday return.

Mosley’s Maya was a ground-breaking character on soaps. The character had been on the scene for a few years, yet viewers had no idea that Maya Avant had been born “Myron”. In one of BB’s, if not soaps’, most shocking moments, Maya’s sister, Nicole (Reign Edwards) said to Maya that she wasn’t her sister — she was his brother!

BB proceeded to tell a powerful tale in which Rick (Jacob Young), who had grown to love Maya and was rocked by the news that she’d once been known as Myron, went on a journey of self-discovery and realized he loved Maya.

The two married and later, became parents after Nicole gave birth to the couple’s daughter Lizzie. Once Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) revealed that some final paperwork had to be signed in order for Rick and Maya to have full and complete custody of Lizzie, Nicole began to have second thoughts.

Thanks to the support of her husband Zende (then, Rome Flynn; now, Delon de Metz), Nicole grew to realize that Lizzie belonged with Maya and Rick. Later, Maya and Rick left town and when Maya returned, she revealed that she and Rick had split up. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
