Quinn’s been in the doghouse for some time now after orchestrating Ridge and Brooke’s breakup on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, it appears she’s making her way back into the Forrester mansion in light of Quinn and estranged husband Eric finally having a heart-to-heart talk.
It was unclear whether or not Eric (John McCook) and Quinn (Rena Sofer) were going to reunite, however, their poignant performances definitely resulted in the duo earning Soap Hub’s Performers of the Week!
In a series of scenes in the landmark Forrester mansion, Eric and Quinn opened their respective hearts, clearing the air once and for all. Sofer played Quinn with her emotions in check, meaning she didn’t fly off the handle, chastising Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) or accusing her BFF Shauna (Denise Richards) of trying to steal Eric.
Instead, she kept her eye on the prize — assuring Eric that she’d learned her lesson and was deeply sorry for her machinations. Quinn was restrained but not in her passion for her husband.
“Maybe I don’t deserve you but I’m going to ask anyway because I love you that much,” Quinn said. “I don’t want us to be over.”
This was not only a smart approach by Quinn but a successful one, too. Because she was truly remorseful, Eric felt he could share with his wife how much he still cares for her — but he didn’t let her off the hook entirely.
Fans know that Eric’s been down this path before, but while he walked out on the late Stephanie (Susan Flannery) more than once for pulling similar stints, he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Quinn. He did scold her for engineering the breakup of Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke’s marriage, acknowledging that the duo was having problems. “In spite of all of that,” Eric said, “I’ve missed you in this house. I miss what we had together… what we have…”
Hearing the word “have” (present tense) gave Quinn (as well as fans of the pair), pardon the pun, “hope for the future.” Eric told Quinn she no longer had to apologize to him, but that in fact, it was his turn to say that he was sorry. This caught Quinn off guard. Eric explained it was insensitive of him to let Shauna stay at the house with him while Quinn wasn’t living there.
He went on to let Quinn know that he didn’t want to live his life without her. “My beautiful, creative, intelligent, maddening wife,” Eric said. “I love you, Quinn.”
Quinn was overjoyed to hear that Eric was finally forgiving her. So, for now at least, Quinn’s portrait is the one that will remain over the fireplace in the Forrester mansion, and we get to look forward to more stellar performances from John McCook and Rena Sofer. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
