Bill Spencer, who was released from jail on The Bold and the Beautiful, went from one living hell to another upon learning that his righthand man, attorney, and friend Justin Barber had turned on him. For his performance as a man responding to being cruelly betrayed, Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week honors for B&B on Bill’s portrayer Don Diamont.

Don Diamont — Performer of the Week

There was a time Bill (Don Diamont) wouldn’t have let Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) into his office let alone talk long enough to speak badly about Bill’s pal Justin (Aaron D. Spears). However, Bill knew he owed Thomas his and Liam Spence’s (Scott Clifton) freedom. Bill was incredulous over the news Thomas delivered. Before he could react fully, Justin himself walked through the door.

Diamont initially had Bill stay open-minded, calling Thomas’s accusation unfathomable. He asked Justin to deny it but the slight quiver in Bill’s voice revealed he was not doubting Thomas’s word. Before Thomas left, Bill informed the young man that he was grateful and let him know they had a clean slate. The two men shook hands.

Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) also exited the room to give the two men some alone time. (Kudos to Tom for the nasty look Katie gave Justin on her way out the door.)

In Justin’s defense, he had gone to the police to try to exonerate Bill and Liam but Thomas and Hope Logan Spencer got there first. Diamont let loose with unbridled fury once Bill could not escape the fact that Justin had tried to hurt him. “My best friend!” Bill screamed. “You are my confidant, my wingman, you are my blood brother, and now? Dammit! Now, you are my Judas! You have betrayed me in the most heinous way.”

Aaron D. Spears, a recent Soap Hub Performer of the Week, also shined in these scenes as Justin tearfully begged for Bill’s forgiveness. Bill wasn’t interested in Justin’s hollow apologies or flimsy motivation for turning on him.

He let Justin know that there was never any indication that Justin was going to be promoted within the organization as Bill has sons and the name of the company is Spencer Publications. Bill pointed out that Justin had been well paid for his legal and other services over the years. He marveled at Justin’s claim that he was no longer the man who tried to steal everything from him.

Bill said he couldn’t believe how Justin betrayed him, especially as he loved him like a brother. Don Diamont shifted from emotional hurt to anger. “You are dead to me!” he barked, ordering Justin to leave. Bill no longer considers Thomas an enemy, however, he also can no longer call Justin his friend.
