Soap Hub Performer of the Week for Bold and the Beautiful: Denise Richards

Shauna Fulton earned her spot as Quinn’s best friend once again on The Bold and the Beautiful this week by continuing to cover for her and the fling she had with Carter. For her performance as a strong-willed pal, Soap Hub is bestowing Performer of the Week honors on Shauna’s portrayer, Denise Richards.

When telling a lie, it’s best to have to recall as few details as possible — that way you don’t have to remember an intricate story that you might have to repeat. However, once Shauna knew that her daughter Flo (Katrina Bowden) had learned about her mother’s supposed affair with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), Richards had to continue to play Shauna as a woman who thinks fast on her feet. Shauna “confessed” the union to Flo and later, came up with reasons why she hadn’t told her in the beginning.

Shauna was looking to putting the whole affair (pun intended) behind her but felt she had to put the mask on once more when Paris (Diamond White), who’d overheard Shauna say that it was Quinn (Rena Sofer) who’d been intimate with Carter, started grilling her.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Shauna shot back at Paris after she made some cryptic points, questioning the validity of Shauna’s statements. Richards plays her character as someone who’s quite cordial, but push back on Shauna and you’re going to see that kindness does not equal weakness!

Shauna attempted to leave the executive office at Forrester until Paris stopped her with her words. “It was Quinn,” Paris stated. Once Shauna learned that Paris knew the truth about Quinn and Carter, she didn’t double down and say that Paris had misheard what she had. Instead, Richards tapped into Shauna’s humanity as her character pled with Paris to remain silent. Shauna’s not a lawyer, but she might want to consider that career path as she passionately made the case that the affair needs to be kept secret.

“We’re talking about two happy couples who will be torn apart if this secret gets out,” Shauna noted to Paris, pointing out that not only is Eric (John McCook) and Quinn’s future on the line, but so is Carter and Zoe’s (Kiara Barnes). “And you won’t let that happen, will you? Promise me, Paris.”

Quinn is a lucky woman and no, it’s not because Eric has gifted her with an expensive necklace. It’s because she has a devoted friend in Shauna, who continues to prove, as does her portrayer, Denise Richards, that she’s better than gold! The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS.
