Viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful aren’t used to seeing Quinn Forrester Fuller being afraid when she’s backed into a corner. However, that’s just how she was behaving thanks to Paris finding out about her affair with Carter. Quinn’s emotions ran the gamut as she remained calm, then, panicked, and later, became assertive. For taking viewers on a roller-coaster ride, Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week for B&B honors upon Rena Sofer.
Even Quinn Fuller Forrester’s enemies (well, except for Brooke Logan Forrester) would concede that she loves Eric Forrester (John McCook). Her dalliance with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) happened after she felt totally shunned by her estranged husband and while Carter was vulnerable due to Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) vacillating between him and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz).
Once Eric took Quinn back, everything changed. She regretted her fling with Carter and wrapped up their brief romance so she could return to her life as Mrs. Eric Forrester. We saw Quinn panicking that the truth would come out and it did when Paris Buckingham overheard Quinn and Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) talking about Quinn’s romp with Forrester’s COO.
Normally, Quinn believes that the best defense is a strong offense. The Forrester mansion vase collection was never the same after Quinn and Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) went at it. And let’s not forget Quinn callously shoving both Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) into the water to get what she wanted.
It was odd to see Quinn on her hands and knees begging Paris (Diamond White) to keep quiet. Clearly, Quinn was so desperate to keep her fling a secret she went to places we’ve seldom (if ever) seen her go. Prior to the B&B vow renewal ceremony commencing, Quinn and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) went another round. This is where the real Quinn emerged. Quinn asked Brooke to leave and told her she wasn’t going to let Brooke ruin her day.
Quinn couldn’t believe her luck when Paris walked into her room next. “Shut up, Paris!” Quinn snarked at the Forrester Foundation executive. “You don’t know anything about me. You don’t know what I’ve been through in my marriage and how lost I felt. Life is complicated. Life is messy. People get hurt. People make mistakes. But we change and we grow. I’m a work in progress. Just like you. Just like everyone else.”
Quinn should have cut it off there but she made the mistake of going on to threaten Paris’s job. That’s when Brooke appeared outside the closed door and heard just enough to learn that something was terribly amiss.
After Brooke got Paris to confirm the affair, Brooke burst into the living room and interrupted the ceremony. There, we saw Quinn start to crumble. She tried to cover but once Brooke brought Carter into it, Quinn saw her life with Eric begin to slip away.
Quinn, however, hasn’t lost yet. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next. If Eric wants to toss his cheating spouse – and her portrait – out of his life, we can’t imagine Quinn going quietly. Quinn clearly still loves him and is a survivor. Eric and Quinn getting a divorce, depending on how much she’s going to want in a settlement, will not only involve the whole Forrester family but it could rock Forrester Creations to its core!
One thing’s for certain, we can count on Rena Sofer to continue to deliver passionate performances as this story unfolds. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS.
