Should Hope Adopt Douglas On The Bold And The Beautiful?

At their best, soaps are like morality plays. The bad guys can get away with a lot, but in the end, they should have to pay and The Bold And The Beautiful’s Thomas is no exception. But what about his son?

While viewers have seen Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) go to great lengths to make sure his son, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), has a mother, his actions may cause him to be without a father!

If Thomas ends up being unable to care for his son should Hope (Annika Noelle) adopt him? Soap Hub posed this question to BB fans. Read on for the results!

Mother’s Daze
The majority of you, over 56%, feel that no, Hope should not adopt Douglas if his dad either goes to jail or an institution to pay for his crimes (RIP, Emma) and manipulations. Hope’s a victim in all this, too, and you’d prefer to see her move on with her life, get re-hitched to Liam (Scott Clifton) and take care of herself and her daughter Beth once the truth comes out!

Sins Of The Father
The rest of you, almost 44%, say that of course, Hope should take care of Douglas. Heck, it’s not the little guy’s fault that his dad has gone over the edge.

Hope’s a loving mom and she won’t be able to let Douglas be alone if his father has to go get well. Even though Thomas has been manipulating Hope in getting her to care about his son, it’s a plan that’s been working.

Temporary Custody
Maybe Hope wouldn’t have to fully adopt Douglas. Rather, she could foster him so that he feels secure. But how would that sit with Liam? He might not be too crazy about having the woman he loves as guardian to the son of the man who drugged him.
