It was a busy week in Los Angeles, and The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 16–20 revealed the fate of Hope for the Future. By the end of the week, Taylor unloaded a shocking diagnosis that will cause heartbreak once her family finds out.
What Happened In Los Angeles?
Monday, September 16
The action picked up from Friday. Hope (Annika Noelle) wanted to know if Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was ending Hope for the Future. Steffy decided it was in everybody’s best interests to save Hope’s fashion line. After all, it was a lucrative venture in the past; it could be again. Plus, HFTF spoke to the younger set. Hope thanked Steffy for her belief and for giving her another chance. She promised her that she wouldn’t let her down.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Taylor (Rebecca Budig), and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) discussed what had just happened. Brooke thought it very mature for Steffy to decide to go that route. When Brooke mentioned that HFTH was very important to Forrester Creations, Ridge didn’t quite answer. He looked very much torn in the middle of the debate between Brooke and Taylor.
Later, when Hope was on the phone telling an off-screen Zende (Delon de Metz) the good news, Steffy walked in for a one-on-one conversation. Steffy made it clear that HFTH was kaput if Hope ever made a play for Finn. In fact, she couldn’t even look at him wrong. Do not cross the line with her husband ever again.
Meanwhile, at Il Giardino, Deacon (Sean Kanan), Liam (Scott Clifton), and Will (Crew Morrow) talked about Luna (Lisa Yamada), Bill (Don Diamont), and the whole situation. Deacon said he was glad Bill didn’t get hurt, although he was still feeling the pain from losing Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers). Deacon said Bill was lucky to have Katie (Heather Tom) on his side.
At Bill’s mansion, Bill expressed how good it was to see Katie happy. Plus, he decided that it was time to spend more time with his family, so they texted Will, who gave them the thumbs up. Before Will arrived, Katie and Bill discussed Bill’s reining in his emotions and his Bill-ness so that he could get closer to his son. When Will showed up, things were awkward, but they got it together enough to have a Spencer family hug.

Steffy explained to Hope that this condition she has on HFTF wasn’t a threat. It was actually a warning. Hope reiterated to Steffy that what she did with Finn (Tanner Novlan) was inexcusable. But Steffy corrected her semantics. It wasn’t what she did WITH Finn. It’s what she did TO Finn because he wanted no part of that kiss.
Brooke asked Ridge if he would support Steffy’s decision to shut down HFTF, and he said he would do what was best for the company. Taylor just wanted Brooke to respect Steffy’s position as co-CEO of FC, and Brooke wanted Steffy to respect her and Hope.
RJ (Joshua Hoffman) showed up at Finn’s office. The good doctor wanted to check in with him to see how he was doing. RJ thanked god that Steffy wasn’t a casualty of Luna’s. RJ said he was going to live life alone and focus on work. When Finn brought up Hope and Steffy, the Forever optimistic guy actually hoped that Hope and Steffy should realize that they have more in common than they realize.
Brooke walked in on Hope and Steffy and immediately had to start defending her daughter. Hope just wanted everybody to stop bringing it up because how could they move on if everybody kept talking about it? Steffy couldn’t trust that it wouldn’t happen again. After all, they’re Logans.
Later, Steffy repeated the ultimatum she had given Hope to Ridge and Taylor. They expressed their support, and then Steffy brought up Hope’s turning into Brooke. Old-school Brooke. Ridge didn’t like that she went there.
Since Il Giardino remained the one and only go-to restaurant for the Forresters and Logans, of course, Hope ran into Finn there. They talked about Sheila and the awkward kiss. On her part, Hope brought up how they shouldn’t spend time together. She admitted to caring about Finn too much. While he said he cared about her, he really wanted Steffy and Hope to get along.

Eric, Taylor, and Ridge were gathered at Eric’s place. Later, Taylor and Ridge continued to reconnect and talk about Hope kissing Finn. Later, Taylor confessed that she had seen Ridge and Brooke in Monaco but hadn’t said anything. She was there because she had an appointment.
However, seeing him reminded her of the last time she was in LA and how she had to get away and clear her head, as well as her work. But she’s back. She missed the kids, the grandkids, and the big kid in front of her. Ridge let her know she was missed when she was gone.
Liam visited Steffy at her home. He wanted to check on her as well. She’s good because of her incredible husband. Liam agreed with Steffy about the way Finn came through for her. He trusted his instincts, and they were all really grateful. Then she said none of that would have happened if Hope hadn’t kissed her husband. Liam still trying to wrap his head around that.
Brooke visited Finn at the hospital to talk about Hope, of course. She told Finn to forget about that kiss. Not to let it cause more trouble than it already has. Finn defended Steffy, obviously. Brooke told Finn about Steffy’s threat to Hope. She wanted Finn to talk to Steffy about this threat. Maybe he could end this war between the two forever.
After Finn got home, he told Steffy about his surprise visitor today—Brooke—and how she told him about Steffy’s ultimatum, which he supported. Steffy vowed no one would come between them.

Ridge wanted to know why Taylor didn’t reach out to him in Monaco. She didn’t want to be a distraction, and she didn’t feel like Brooke would have appreciated her interrupting. Taylor was proud of them as exes. They get along and have great memories and painful ones, too. You never get over losing a child. Together, they remembered Phoebe. Taylor told Ridge she clings to the thought of seeing her again someday. While Ridge called Taylor the glue that held everybody together, she said he would always be the love of her life.
At Forrester, the Logan sisters chatted and had lunch. It was mostly about Finn being a hero and each of their romances. How Donna was happy with Eric after all the obstacles they overcame. And that even Katie and Bill had a special love, and who knows, that may happen again. Of course, the conversation veered towards Brooke and Ridge and their amazing connection.
Brooke felt happy that she was with the man she was meant to be with for the rest of her life. Finally, Katie and Donna talked about Brooke and Ridge overcoming obstacles like Taylor. Brooke said in the past, she would be worried, looking over her shoulder, but she was different now. She had complete faith in her love for Ridge.
Finn and Steffy continued to talk about the Hope kiss as well as about what it was like for Steffy in the cage. She had all that time to think, and she was afraid she would never see Finn and the kids again. But she had faith, and she would close her eyes, see his face, hear his voice, and feel his arms wrapped around her. well, Finn said he’s never letting her go again. Then they made love.
Afterward, Finn told his wife she never had to doubt his love and commitment to her. And she said his faith kept her alive. She’s here because of him, and she loved him so much.

Taylor wanted to set the record straight with Brooke. She said she didn’t come back to LA to make a play for her ex-husband. She wanted to be close to her family. Suddenly, out of the blue, Brooke asked Taylor if this meant they could be friends. They’ve attempted to be friends before—unsuccessfully—but Brooke wanted to try again.
Taylor said maybe. Ultimately, they were both on the same page as far as putting aside this Logan versus Forrester rivalry. Brooke told Taylor exactly what she had been saying all along to Hope and then realized the irony. Overall, they agreed not to let their competitive natures go to the next generation. However, they did realize that while it was too late for that, it wasn’t too late for their families to come together.
Taylor told Brooke to tell Hope in no uncertain terms to back off from Finn. And Brooke wanted Taylor to talk to her daughter about this threat to HFTF. They decide to work on being friends.
Ridge wanted to know if Steffy was going soft after letting Hope for the Future have a future. Maybe Taylor was rubbing off on them. They were beyond happy she made her way back to them. Steffy felt Ridge needed to convince Taylor to stay in LA. Her mom was her best friend, but she wouldn’t ask her to make that professional sacrifice. Steffy believed Taylor could bring peace into their families — the Forresters and the Logans.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Finn saw a patient — Forrester’s pilot, Captain Deuce (guest star Tom Arnold). They waited for his final blood tests, and let’s just say that Deuce wasn’t a patient man. Both Finn and Li (Naomi Matsuda) entertained Captain Deuce’s shenanigans, and thankfully, the test results were good, even the cholesterol.
After Brooke and Taylor’s conversation ended, Li visited Taylor at Steffy’s. Taylor told her she went to see a doctor. And she has heart failure. In fact, she was dying.
