The Bold and the Beautiful recap for May 11-15, 2020 features a look back at some of this soap’s most memorable high fashion moments… and where there’s high fashion, there’s bound to be high drama!
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
This week was dedicated to some of BB’s most epic fashion shows – and one epic photoshoot – which took viewers as far afield as Portofino, Italy, and Sydney Australia. But whether they were LA-based or location bound, the Forrester and Spectra families were never wanting for spectacle and emotionally-charged moments.
The Show’s The Thing
Believe it or not, there was a time in the late 1990s, when the future of the Forrester Creations looked bleak. The family needed their Italy set fashion extravaganza to be a smash hit – or they were going to have to close up shop.
The first few pieces were met with scorn – too staid, too uninspired. Where was the daring and innovative line that had been promised and promoted? Luckily the latter half of the show was made up of more avant-garde fare and the show was hailed as a rousing triumph.
Object of Scorn
Whenever the Forresters are in Aspen, trouble is sure to follow. Back in 2012, it came courtesy of Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) who was out to prove that Hope (Kim Matula) was by no means a good match for his son, Liam (Scott Clifton).
Despite the fact that they should have been covering the designer duds going down the catwalk, a group of overzealous reporters – with a little encouragement from a Spencer underling – took to harassing Miss Logan instead.
Showstopper
Quinn (Rena Sofer) is not someone who likes being told no. And she isn’t going to take mutiny lying down. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) refused to don the gown designed by Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) – because she and her father were aghast that it would have to share the runway with a jewelry collection – so, Quinn threw it on herself.
Busy Bee
Steffy Forrester is the kind of girl who isn’t going to let a little ol’ thing like her wedding ceremony stand in the way of business. So it’s only natural that she’d participate in a photo shoot before the blessed event. And then, just to prove that she can, Steffy arrived at the event via a zipline. This girl never does anything halfway.
Copycat
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) really needed a win. She was so desperate to resurrect the ailing House of Spectra that she had betrayed her own sister’s trust and used her to unwittingly steal the Forrester’s newest designs. Now she prepared to send her knockoffs down the runway and introduce them to prospective buyers.
If her show proved successful, she just might her company – and the building in which it is housed – from total ruin (and demolition). The showing commenced. And it went well…a little too well. Long time fashion journalist Jarrett (Andrew Collins) smelled a rat and Coco (Courtney Grosbeck) realized that she’s been had.
BB Musings
Eric: “You ran Forrester for a while, as I recall, and very successfully, I might add.” Katie: “Thank you! I – can’t quite believe that anyone actually remembers that.” Katie (Heather Tom) was installed as Forrester Creations CEO upon Bill’s acquisition of the design house.
And the award for best line of the week goes to Quinn Fuller for, “I’ve got 99 problems, and a switch ain’t one!” The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
