The Forrester family on The Bold and the Beautiful is getting larger with Steffy adopting a new baby, and now her family is going to grow even bigger!
The soap is looking to recast the part of Steffy’s brother Thomas Forrester, last played by Pierson Fode.
Daytime Confidential reported the news of the casting. Since being SORAS’d to young adult stories, Thomas has been played by Drew Tyler Bell (who won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series), Adam Gregory, and Fode.
The character exited the canvas in 2017 in order to move to New York and live with Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) and their son Douglas.
He returned in 2018, single once more, and reunited with Sally (Courtney Hope). They left town, but months later, Sally returned, now split from Thomas, and started a new romance with Wyatt (Darin Brooks).
No word yet on when the actor hired to play the part will start taping, when he’ll commence airing, or what his storyline will be. However, Soap Hub sees a few story points where Thomas’ presence would make an impact.
The most obvious direction to take Thomas in is as a foil in the Sally/Wyatt relationship. If Wyatt and Sally split, Wyatt could re-explore his feelings for Katie (Heather Tom). “Watie” ended far too abruptly as far as their fans are concerned. Thomas’ return could change all that.
Flo (Katrina Bowden) currently has no love interest and she knows that the baby Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is adopting is a black market baby.
Imagine the irony of Thomas dating the woman who knows his sister’s new bundle of joy doesn’t really belong to her!
There’s no word of Caroline returning, but if she and little Douglas ever come back to town the show could explore whether or not Ridge’s vasectomy truly took or not! Imagine the paternity twist of Ridge being Douglas’ dad!
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
