Losing baby Beth has been pure agony for Hope and Liam on The Bold and the Beautiful, but, for the show, there’s been a positive result! This baby switch storyline resulted in some good news for the half-hour soap!
According to the latest Nielsen ratings, BB scored 3.62 million viewers for the ratings period ending on Sunday, February 24. This is the largest audience B&B has had in 11 months since the week ending March 23, 2018, which is the show’s anniversary!
BB also hit a season high in women 25-54 rating (1.0).
Front and center right now is the baby storyline involving Hope (Annika Noelle), Liam (Scott Clifton), Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and Reese (Wayne Brady). As the plot has continued to unfold, other characters have been added, including Flo (Katrina Bowden) and Zoe (Kiara Barnes).
Stories involving missing babies have traditionally done well on soaps. The gold standard baby-snatching tale is the one involving The Young and the Restless’ Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and Tracey Bregman (Lauren), which entailed Sheila stealing Lauren’s son, Scotty, and passing him off as her own.
Lauren’s inevitable reunion with Scotty had a huge payoff, and the tale led to Sheila, and later, Lauren, migrating over to BB.
The baby ‘Phoebeth’ storyline is clearly a hit. And viewers can’t wait to see the next twist in this dramatic tale!
Congratulations to everyone at B&B on this winning storyline!
