In 1983, Jack Wagner shot to stardom on General Hospital as rock star-turned-WSB Agent Frisco Jones. From there, he played slimy Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place and then turned up on The Bold and the Beautiful as Ridge’s half brother, Nick Marone. But now he’s about to head to Canada to begin work on Season 8 of When Calls the Heart.
Jack Wagner Checks In From The Airport
The actor has kept a reasonably low profile during his time off, which has coincided with the coronavirus pandemic closing down a lot of production around the world. But now he’s headed back to work and doing updates about what he has going on. He recently shared a video to his Instagram account to update his fans.
“Heading to start S8 of ‘When Calls the Heart’ beyond Grateful🙏 Please be safe and take care. Sending a Ton of Love to all!! @hallmarkchannel @wcth_tv #Hearties,” he wrote in the caption next to the video. In the video, he can be seen at the airport, waiting to board a WestJet plane and you can see those working for the airline wearing a mask — as is Wagner.
“Yes, it’s that time. Hello everybody, it’s been a while since I’ve been on Instagram,” he began, while wearing his mask. “Just want to give a shoutout. I hope everybody’s doing well, staying safe, following the guidelines for this COVID-19 pandemic. Heading to Vancouver to start Season 8 of When Calls the Heart,” he said, pulling down his mask for a second to show his shock — “Amazing!
“Sending my love to everybody. Please stay safe and I will keep you posted as the season moves forward. Take care,” he said before saluting. Wagner joined the show as mountie Bill Avery, during the first season in episode 11. He came on as a forensic investigator who was hiding something from his past.
At that time, he was paired with another former soap star from Edge of Night, Lori Loughlin (ex-Jody). She played Abigail Stanton, but she lost her job after news broke of her participation in the college admissions scandal.
