Krista Allen recently explained that viewers might experience something new as far as her character, Dr. Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful is concerned. Fans of the show won’t need to adjust the volume on their TV sets, computers, or handheld devices but things are going to start sounding differently with the good doctor.

Krista Allen: Hear Me Roar

“Heads Up!” Allen began a recent tweet. “I had strep last month, then once I wasn’t contagious I worked with a very sore and raspy throat/voice for many episodes. Might start today. I’m just letting y’all know now, so no one worries. I’m better — But, it lasts for weeeeeeeks. Xo, Squeaky.”

The B&B Plot Thickens

In her responses to well-wishers on her Twitter account, Allen reveals that her altered voice will be heard for quite some time, and it will also mutate as it works on getting back to what it was before she got strep. “It gets pretty bad! From high squeak to low squeak to even sounding like Ridge [Thorsten Kaye]!” Allen chuckles. Why didn’t it get better sooner? She suggests, “Never got to rest my voice — so it just got worse and worse haha.”

Krista Allen: Funny Lady

Allen may have been under the weather, but she has not lost her sense of humor. The actress posted a GIF of South Park character Eric Cartman as he gets pushed under a bus. Was that a wry way of saying she feels Taylor’s gotten a bad break lately? “At least you find the humor in it!” wrote @nigel_campbell. “Will [Bold and the Beautiful] throw Taylor under the bus every 6 months or should we expect it with more frequency?” The good-natured Allen chuckled in response, “Taylor’s under the bus so much, she should be a mechanic. #worldrenownedmechanic.”

Allen’s supporters feel that Taylor is going to survive no matter how many times she’s down. “They got them all lined up waiting for Queen Taylor,” posted @realsoapytalk showing an image of several buses in a row. “We know. We also know she emerges stronger, each time.” Soap Hub wishes Allen continued recovery from her case of strep.
