Stories on soaps go on for years, but Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is ending her maternity leave so that means Steffy’s coming back to The Bold And The Beautiful starting today!
To accommodate the actress’ absence, the show wrote Steffy off by sending her to Paris and to work at Forrester International, taking her daughters, Kelly and Phoebe, with her!
While Steffy’s been away, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) has been manipulating Hope (Annika Noelle) back into his life. If the plan works, Liam (Scott Clifton) will become available.
Wood spoke to TV Insider about what Steffy is walking back into now that she’s back on the scene. “When she comes back, she’s getting into the swing of things, figuring everything out,” the actress says. “There will be some baby drama that will arise!”
There’s no telling when exactly, but Wood suspects that eventually it will be revealed that Steffy has inadvertently adopted the baby girl that Hope was told had died on Catalina Island. “I don’t know which way it will go,” Wood says. “As an actor, I feel it in my chest [what it will be like] playing those scenes, as a new mom, having to imagine a child being ripped away from you.”
But, will being taken away from Steffy be in little Phoebe’s (or Beth’s, if you will) best interests? Time will tell!
In fact, the only given is that Wood will host next year’s Daytime Emmy Outstanding Actress nominee luncheon, a tradition that, ironically, was started by Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie) in which the winner from the previous year invites the current group of nominees for a fun-filled gathering!
Wood attended this year’s luncheon, hosted by Eileen Davidson (ex-Ashley, The Young And The Restless). “I had the biggest smile on my face [that day],” Wood shares. “I love these women! They’re a riot! The veracity of these women – they’re all loaded with class and charisma. I was just in awe of them.”
The Bold And The Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
