Jacob Young Is Celebrating TWO Big Milestones!

He may not be on The Bold and the Beautiful much anymore, but Jacob Young still has lots to celebrate. Today is his birthday, and also another big day for the actor.

Young’s newest EP album debuts today and it’s available on iTunes and anywhere else you can buy streamed music. He’s also getting ready to debut a new Podcast called Daytime After Dark.

While Young’s first soap role was Rick on B&B, which he started playing in late 1997, the Renton, Washington native is also known for two other soaps.

After playing Rick for two years, the actor quit the half-hour serial. He was pursuing other endeavors when General Hospital offered him the coveted role of Lucky Spencer. As Lucky, Young won a Daytime Emmy for Younger Leading Actor for the part in 2002.

Next, the actor traveled to New York City to take on the part of JR Chandler on All My Children. He played that role until the show’s cancellation in 2010. For his work on AMC, Young received two Daytime Emmy nominations in 2005 and 2009.

After AMC wrapped, Young returned to B&B. During his second stint as Rick, Young embarked on a revolutionary storyline with Karla Mosley’s Maya, who was revealed to be transgender.

After processing Maya’s origins, Rick decided he still loved her and the two wed and had a baby via surrogate – Maya’s sister Nicole (Reign Edwards).

Earlier this year, B&B put the actor on recurring status. He was vocal about this, especially Rick not coming back to the recent wedding of Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton), and a host of other topics in an interview with TV Source.
