Leading men on The Bold and the Beautiful have always been torn between two lovers. First, there was Ridge who went back and forth between Caroline and Brooke, and later, Brooke and Taylor. Now, we have Liam, who has been in love with both Hope and Steffy.
Liam (Scott Clifton) is happily wed to Hope (Annika Noelle) but has he truly gotten Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) out of his system? Soap Hub asked BB fans if they think whether or not Liam can remain faithful to one woman.
The essence of drama is conflict, so it’s probably a good thing that over 84% of you feel that no, Liam can’t remain faithful. He’s claiming that his interest in Steffy right now is because he doesn’t necessarily trust her doctor, Finn (Tanner Novlan), and he wants to make sure she has the best care for her addiction.
But let’s be honest. Isn’t Liam really sticking his nose into Steffy’s personal life because he can’t let go? He was working his way to a reunion with Steffy when he and Hope received the joyous news that their daughter Beth was alive.
The rest of you, nearly 16%, believe that Liam can be loyal. It isn’t a fickle heart that causes him to go back and forth between multiple women. There’s usually an antagonistic force that keeps him from the women to whom he’s trying to love.
Forces have conspired to keep Liam and Hope apart many times. Remember the time Bill (Don Diamont) trapped Hope in a gondola so she couldn’t get to Liam? Quinn pushed Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) into the Seine in Paris and gallant Liam went to rescue her, keeping him from connecting with Hope.
Quinn also manipulated Liam while he had amnesia, hoping to keep Liam from Steffy so that her son Wyatt (Darin Brooks) would have a clear shot at her.
Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady) lit the biggest fuse that set off a bomb, blasting Hope and Liam’s relationship to smithereens. First, the couple was dealing with the fact that their daughter had died (or so they thought). It was only natural for Liam to spend more time with his daughter, Kelly, whom he shares with Steffy.
Hope, looking for an outlet to be a mom, gravitated towards little Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), which played perfectly into Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) plans. Left alone, Liam would likely be content to be with Hope forever! Of course, destiny might have other ideas! Stay tuned to see what will happen next! The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
