First, Sally got her happy reunion with Thomas on The Bold and the Beautiful, now it’s her fans who are getting the reunion — Courtney Hope, who plays Sally, is headed back to the half-hour soap!
The actress joined the show a year ago as Sally Spectra, the grandniece of the original Sally (the late, great Darlene Conley) when B&B did a revival of the popular Spectra gang, which originally debuted on the show in the late ’80s.
The new Spectra group was very much like the original in that it was a scrappy “have not” unit that tried to outdo the Forresters when it came to designs.
Hope’s Sally and Pierson Fode’s Thomas became a hit couple. After Fode quit the show, Sally fell into Liam’s (Scott Clifton) orbit and the two characters shared a kiss after Spectra Fashions blew up.
Liam’s dance card filled up a bit when Hope (Annika Noelle) returned to Los Angeles, and, later, Sally left town after Thomas came home to tell her that he’d been lied to about Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) being terminally ill.
No word yet on what’s bringing Sally back to the canvas. Will her renewed romance with Thomas still be in place off-camera? Or will Sally be a single lady ready to explore her feelings for Liam?
The move is a welcome return for not only Hope, but also fans who enjoy seeing “have not” characters on soaps. For years, they were a staple on programs as viewers enjoy watching people who have nothing rise up and achieve a better life.
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
