Remember When: Eric and Donna’s Love Story On The Bold and the Beautiful

Eric Forrester had already been with Beth and Brooke on The Bold and the Beautiful by the time he was paired with Donna Logan (who had almost married Eric’s son Thorne), so their match seemed unlikely.

In reality, their dynamic was very sweet and — watch out, Quinn — it might be rekindled now that Donna’s back in town!

Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Eric (John McCook) truly loved each other, but their primary obstacle was, of course, Stephanie (Susan Flannery), Eric’s on-again/off-again wife and the mother of his children.

When Steph learned Storm (William deVry) had shot her, she blackmailed Donna into ending it with Eric. Donna lied to Eric that it was over, but he saw through her ruse.

Donna faced an arguably greater rival in Pam (Alley Mills), Stephanie’s sister. Pam, who suffered from bipolar disorder, pulled many mean stunts on Donna, but she failed to keep Donna and Eric from marrying.

Complications arose quickly. First, Donna’s brother Storm (William deVry) died. Then, Marcus (Texas Battle), the son Donna gave up at birth came to town. Surprisingly, Eric adopted him.

Later, Eric suffered a heart attack. His children used this as an opportunity to keep the two apart. Then, Pam, who had a mass on her brain, went off the rails and threatened to kill Donna’s family if she didn’t leave Eric.

Tragedy struck when Stephanie argued with Beth (Robin Riker), now suffering from Alzheimer’s.

After Stephanie left Beth alone by the Forrester pool, Beth fell in and drowned. Donna blamed Steph for her mom’s death. This was the obstacle her marriage to Eric couldn’t get past.

Now, thanks to Pam, ironically, Donna’s back in town. Will she re-win Eric’s heart, breaking up his marriage to Quinn (Rena Sofer) in the process?
