Brooke’s wanted to marry Ridge since the inception of The Bold and the Beautiful, so the episodes this week were of great significance. How’d the ceremony and reception rate — compared to other B&B weddings?
Soap Hub takes a look at the highs and lows of the Forrester/Logan nuptials.
The Highs
The ceremony was relatively small but well-attended by the show’s cast of regulars. Of the players who it made sense to be there, only Liam (Scott Clifton) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) were missing. The former didn’t want to interact with his estranged wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and the latter wanted to support his troubled brother.
Big kudos to Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) for officiating with eloquence and style. It’s much more preferable to see a regular player perform a wedding ceremony on a soap rather than a game show host or reality show contestant, which can, frankly, distract from the happy couple.
All the speeches were both heartfelt and humorous. Most importantly, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) seem very much in love and the vows went off without a hitch!
The Lows
Continuity buffs would have liked to have seen Kristen (Tracy Melchior) and Felicia (Lesli Kay) in attendance or at least have there be a proper explanation as to why they weren’t. It was referenced a few times that Brooke met the Forrester family right there in the house.
Well, she certainly met Stephanie (Susan Flannery) in the kitchen, but diehard B&B fans know that Brooke encountered the Forrester men down by the pool which is outside of the house. But as that is also the site of the accidental death of her mother, Beth (Robyn Riker), perhaps Brooke chose not to think of that area of the estate.
Reception “Crasher”
Stephanie was mentioned a few times during the ceremony and reception (and kudos to Eric for mentioning Beth’s name, too). B&B gave viewers a nice treat by inviting Flannery to reprise Stephanie — or at least her voice — to visit her once-again daughter-in-law.
Brooke doubted she was truly hearing Stephanie as she looked at her portrait, but when she heard the words “my little slut from the valley” — a phrase Steph didn’t always use with such affection — Brooke knew she was truly experiencing something special.
