Heather Tom’s Brand-New The Young and the Restless Gig

The Bold And The Beautiful and The Young And The Restless have been doing crossovers since 1991 when Macy Alexander on BB mentioned she got a bathing suit at Fenmore’s West (Lauren Fenmore’s store!) Now, the show is doing a different kind of “crossover.”

Heather Tom who plays Katie on BB is visiting YR, but she won’t be playing the youngest Logan sister and she’s not going back to her role as Victoria either. (Victoria is, of course, played by Amelia Heinle, who has won two Daytime Emmys for playing the part!)

Tom, also a multiple-Emmy award winner is putting on her behind-the-scenes hat and is directing an episode of the show on which she used to appear.

Per her social media post, Tom’s episode is set to air on Wednesday, July 17!

Some followers were confused about what was bringing Tom back to Genoa City. She clarified in the comments section that she was visiting the show as a director — not a performer.

“xx to everyone involved in making this happen!” Tom wrote in her comments. “And to be clear- I’m directing not acting!”

She also tweeted a clarification so that everyone would know she would be behind the camera and not in front of it for this gig.
