Five Fun Facts About The Bold And The Beautiful Star Matthew Atkinson!

Matthew Atkinson is the latest actor to play the legacy role of Thomas Forrester, son of Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes Forrester (Hunter Tylo), on The Bold and the Beautiful. He’s hitting the ground running in a powerful story in which Thomas has lost the woman he loves!

Longtime B&B viewers know a lot about Thomas — Taylor named him after St. Thomas, the island on which Ridge proposed to Taylor. Also, his own son, Douglas (Henry Joseph Sami), is the maiden name of the late Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery).

But you may not know that much about Atkinson. Here are five facts about the handsome B&B newcomer:

One Tree Still: Atkinson’s first acting role was playing ‘Nathan Actor’ on an episode of One Tree Hill. In the show, a story point had the One Tree Hill characters being written into a movie. Atkinson was cast as the doppelganger of James Lafferty (Nathan).

The Road Less Travers: On The Young and the Restless, Atkinson played the part of ill-fated Austin Travers, who blamed Avery (Jessica Collins) for his mom’s death. Later, he married Summer (Hunter King) only to have a fling with Abby (Melissa Ordway). Austin was killed by rogue lawman Det. Harding (Chris McKenna).

Such Language!: Atkinson played the part of Kyle Nevins in the episode titled ‘The “F” Word’ in 2009.

New Year’s Eve Baby: Atkinson was born December 31, 1988 so, each year he celebrates the year of his birth and rings in the new year on the same night!

Stage Name: Atkinson’s birth name is ‘John Matthew Atkinson.’ Born in Marietta, Georgia, Atkinson moved around quite a bit as a youngster, living with his family in Alabama and Mississippi before his family settled in Kennesaw, Georgia.
