Five Fast Facts About The Bold and the Beautiful Star Thorsten Kaye

Thorsten Kaye currently stars as Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, a role he has had since 2003. He has also played Zach Slater on All My Children and Patrick Thornhart on One Life to Live.

Kaye has also appeared on shows such as Smash, Port Charles, and Falling Water. From his athletic dreams to his family live, below are five fast facts you need to know about the veteran soap actor.

In The Beginning…
Kaye was born on February 22 in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, but he was raised in London. He spent all of his young life in England and started getting involved in theater while he was a teenager.

Athletic Dreams
Kaye moved to the United States to attend the United States International University on a track scholarship. While he had dreams of being an elite athlete, a motorcycle accident derailed his plans. He then decided to change his major to drama and pursue acting full-time. He also attended graduate school at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he got his master’s degree in theater.

Theater First
Before he started working in television, Kaye appeared in many theater productions. He has had roles in shows such as Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, and Twelfth Night. He performed these shows both in Detroit, where he was getting his master’s, as well as London.

Former Blogger
Along with acting, Kaye is a very passionate sports advocate. He is a fan of the Miami Dolphins football team and the Detroit Red Wings hockey team. In fact, he is so passionate about hockey that he actually blogged for the Red Wings on the NHL website in 2008 and 2009.

Getting Personal
While he was working on One Life to Live, Kaye met his current partner, actress Susan Haskell, who played his character’s true love, Marty.
