Karla Mosley portrays Maya Avant on The Bold and the Beautiful, a role she has had since 2013. Mosley’s first soap experience was on Guiding Light, and she’s appeared on primetime shows like Hart of Dixie, Gossip Girl, and Castle.
Along with her appearances on television shows and in films, Mosley is also a talented singer and has performed in various theater productions. From her very first role to welcoming her child, here are five fast facts about The Bold and the Beautiful actress.
In The Beginning
Mosley was born on August 27 and raised in Westchester County, New York. She started performing at a young age and was a part of Sugar Beats, a rock group created by Sherry Goffin Kondor, the daughter of Carole King and Gerry Goffin. She attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for college.
First Role
While in college, Mosley landed a part on the American version of an Australian children’s TV show called Hi-5. She was the youngest person in the cast and her segment on the show was called Body Move. She stayed on the show for three years but decided to leave to pursue other acting jobs.
Film Appearances
Along with her TV career, Mosley has made appearances in films such as the Cohen Brothers’ movie Burn After Reading, Red Hook, Men in Black 3, and For the Love of Film.
Close To Her Heart
Mosley sits on the board of Covenant House, which is an agency that provides shelter and services to homeless youth. She is also an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and performs in benefits to raise money for important causes.
Getting Personal
Mosley spends time in both Los Angeles and New York. She was previously married to Jeremiah Frei-Pearson, but they split a few years back. She welcomed daughter, Aurora Imani, in August 2018 with her current partner, John Rogers. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
