The Bold and the Beautiful fans got to walk down memory lane over the spring and summer while classic rebroadcasts of the half-hour soap aired thanks to the coronavirus shutdown. Scott Clifton kept up on the re-airings but not in a traditional way.
“We kind of got rid of live TV,” Clifton tells Soap Hub in an exclusive interview. But not entirely as Clifton’s wife, Nicole, is a big baseball fan. “My wife really cares about baseball so we kept that package.”
So, while Clifton didn’t see the re-airings of Liam’s various weddings over the years, he says, “they’ve shown up on my social media.”
One of his former co-stars, Kim Matula (ex-Hope), got sentimental about the re-airing of Hope and Liam’s wedding from when she played the part and the pair were tying the knot in Puglia. She reached out to Clifton and asked if he wanted to hop onto social media with her to do a live chat.
“It was totally impromptu,” Clifton says. “A lot of people loved it and it was a way for me to promote new content. That was one of the cool things about being out of work and there being no new air shows. There were a lot of mini-trips down memory lane.”
Now, Liam and Hope (Annika Noelle) are happily together, but there may be trouble in paradise. As viewers have seen, Liam is extremely invested in the welfare of his ex-wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), who is fighting a pill addiction following her motorcycle accident that left her with severe back pain.
How will Liam’s concern for Steffy affect his dynamic with Hope? And why is he really so concerned about the role her doctor, John “Finn” Finnegan, is playing in her life? Stay tuned to find out. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
