When Thomas returned to The Bold and the Beautiful two years ago, the character delivered some heartbreaking news, but was he telling the truth? With Thomas, one never knows!
The Bold and the Beautiful Polling
Soap Hub posed to BB fans whether or not Caroline (Linsey Godfrey, now Sarah on Days of our Lives) is really deceased. Read on to see the results of our poll.
Doubting Thomas
Most of you, 46% to be specific, believe that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) lied about Caroline dying of a blood clot when they were in New York. He returned to Los Angeles with his son Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) in order to mourn the loss of Caroline, Douglas’s mother.
His interest in drawing Hope (Annika Noelle) into his life became clear shortly upon his return. Thomas’s machinations reached new heights when he used his son to win Hope’s heart. If Thomas was going to do this, he’s pretty much capable of anything.
Sweet Caroline
A solid number of you, nearly 38%, believe that Caroline is truly a goner. Sure, her memorial service was held off-camera but there were script references at the time to her mothers, Karen (Joanna Johnson) and Dani (Crystal Chappell), being aware of Caroline’s passing.
Would Thomas really go that far as to lie about Caroline’s death? It would make him mostly irredeemable to his family and friends if they discovered he had lied. Plus, it would beg the question — where has she been all this time?
Twins Run In The Family
The rest of you, nearly 16%, point out that while Caroline may be dead, it’s possible she could have a twin. After all, they do run in the family — Caroline’s late aunt Caroline (also played by Johnson), whom she was named after, is Karen’s twin.
A twin character would be both Caroline’s double and a Spencer relative. She could stir the pot upon her return on personal and professional levels.
This is a card BB could play when the time is right. Stay tuned to see if and when we ever see Caroline (or a twin of hers) someday. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
