Soap Hub has addressed the issue of Carter Walton, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor, needing a front-burner story before but some things are worth repeating. The Bold and the Beautiful fan favorite has been supporting other characters for too long and not having a life of his own.
Pleading Carter’s Case
We see Saint-Victor and his lawyer persona on B&B often enough. He was there at Eric’s (John McCook) thank-goodness-he-didn’t-die party and, recently, acted as Liam’s sounding board and therapist at Il Giardino when the publishing heir lamented his ex-wife’s predicament.
However, Carter is capable of so much more. B&B thrust the actor into leading man status a few years ago when Carter, anxious to get married and have kids, proposed to Zoe (Kiara Barnes). The show threw viewers a curveball when Carter began an unlikely affair with Quinn (Rena Sofer), his boss and pal Eric’s wife.
“Quarter” as the couple was endearingly called ended abruptly after Sofer exited the show. Carter’s desire to have kids (and Quinn possibly being beyond child-bearing years) didn’t want to stand in his way. Carter began a flirtation with Katie and while their dynamic appears to still be going on it hasn’t gotten much screen-time lately.
We leave it up to the B&B writing team to come up with ways to further utilize Carter but a Bill/Katie/Carter triangle sounds like a wise avenue for the show to travel. If Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom) were drawn together because of their son Will, then Katie might be torn over a reunion with her son’s dad.
B&B could either introduce a new woman for Carter or perhaps bring back one of his past love interests — a recast Quinn (as Sofer is currently appearing on General Hospital as Lois), Maya, played by Karla Mosley (check out our last interview with Mosley here) or Zoe?
Soaps like Bold and the Beautiful are all about romance. Saint-Victor proved during the Carter/Quinn tale that he has lots to offer in this department. The double-edged sword of B&B is that it’s half-hour in length. Viewers are always left wanting more. And now, many are wanting to see more of Carter Walton and Lawrence Saint-Victor!
